Claudio "Claude" Salinas
August 12, 1911 - February 8, 2013
The son of Pauline and Eugene Salinas. died on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the age of 101. He was the husband of Blanca (Blanche) (resident of Virginia) for 65 years. Loving father of Garison C. (M. Scheperle) (MO), H. Salinas (VA) and Claudio (deceased); grandfather of Mark A. (NY, NY) and Matthew H. (LA, CA). Mr. Salinas was a richly educated multi cultural intellectual. He was a master linguist who spoke seven languages and studied at the Paris - Sorbonne (2nd oldest academic institution in the world) and Cornell. Claude lived on 3 continents of the world. He was a civil engineer by education with great interest in soil conservation and the environment. He loved international studies, violin music, promoted human rights, and lived with respect to all cultures in society.
Services: A memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Immacolata, 8900 Clayton Road, Richmond Heights, Missouri 63117 on Friday February 22, 2013 at 10 AM. A private memorial will be held at Ambruster Chapel, 6633 Clayton Road on February 22, 2013. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers as memorial contributions to St. Luke's Hospital - Office of development. The family acknowledges St. Luke's Hospital and Surrey Place for their skilled medical professionals during Mr. Salinas' three year residence from 2010 to 2013.
