Raymond Thomas (Tom) Spurr, 71, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away early Friday morning, November 18, 2016 following a brief illness. He was born January 25, 1945 in Alexandria, VA to the late Raymond & June (Kalisch) Spurr. Tom was a very proud 1962 graduate of St. Louis University High School in St. Louis and a 1966 graduate of the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, IN with a Bachelors degree in English. He was also proud to be a graduate of Notre Dame along this his two brothers, his son, his son-in-law, two of his grandchildren and his daughters who attended nearby St. Mary's College at Notre Dame, IN. His career and his work over many years involved software sales, training and sales management and in later years he worked as a real estate agent. He had a deep devotion to his family and his friends and was well known for his passionate love of music, travel and writings by James Michener. Most recently he shared his love for music by playing music two nights a week at the Pat Connolly Tavern. He was also well known and will be missed for his gentle willingness to give advice, encouragement and support to his family.

Tom is survived by his wife, Linda (Hoven) of 51 years and his daughters Suzanne (Nagy) and her husband Mark Nagy of Zionsville, IN, and Robin (Singer) of Tucson, AZ along with his son Scott and his wife Liz (Fernandez) of Celina, TX. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Randall (St. Louis, MO) and Richard (Dallas, TX). He also leaves behind seven grandchildren of whom he was very proud: Alexandra, Matthew and Nicholas Nagy, Samantha and Cole Spurr and Zoe and Tess Singer. A memorial service will be held following a family burial ceremony at the Ambruster Chapel Funeral Home at 6633 Clayton Road, Clayton, Missouri on Saturday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Tom's memory may be made to the June C. Spurr Memorial Fund at St. Louis University High School that helps support financial aid and scholarships for prospective students.
