Football Emblem

Joseph Vincent Ragni,
Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Sunday, October 25, 2015, born September 23, 1934.
Dear son of Caroline (nee Greco) and Mario Ragni, (both deceased), uncle, cousin and friend, Joe or "Rags", was beloved by all.
Mr. Ragni was a graduate of CBC high school where he played football and track; he was inducted into the CBC Hall of Fame. Joe attended Washington University where he majored in business. After college he served in the United States Navy on the aircraft carrier Saratoga, during the Lebanon Crisis.
He was a very active fund-raiser and supporter of Christian Brothers College High School, Saint Joseph Shrine, Winter Opera Company of Saint Louis, Whitehouse Retreat Center and Saint Louis Symphony.
Joe started his sales career at the Saint Louis Typewriter Company. The majority of his professional life he worked at KDNL TV station and several other broadcast outlets as a sales representative. Joe was also a member of the Missouri Athletic Club and the IPC.
Joe loved sports and was a visible and vocal fan of the Saint Louis Blues and the Football Cardinals. He was the subject of several newspaper articles describing his "exuberant" support of the local teams. His lust for life was exemplified by his active social life; he was often seen with his many friends at Herbie Balabans' restaurant in the CWE.
Mr. Ragni was a favorite "Uncle" of his cousin's children. Family relationships were important to him. He was often seen at soccer games loudly cheering on his nieces and nephews or celebrating holidays with the family. He attended the premier of his nephew's film, The Makings Of You, to show his love and support on what turned out to be his last evening out.
Joe's Catholic faith sustained him during his struggle with Parkinson's disease. We are grateful for the loving caregivers who helped him in his later years.
We will miss you, Jo Jo.
