Peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at age 84, fortified with the Sacraments
Of the Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of Barbara Ann (nee Millea) Doherty for 62 years. Beloved father of the late Kathleen (surviving Thomas) Sargent and the late Thomas (surviving Francis) Doherty, Charlene Jayamanne, James T. (Jane) Doherty, Barbara E. (Steve) Loughman, Ann Doherty, Helene (Jeff) Conrath, and Daniel (Sandy) Doherty; cherished grandfather of the late Elizabeth and the late Dominic Loughman and grandfather of thirty four; and great grandfather of three; dear brother of the late John "Jack" (Elise) Doherty and Maree (Ray) Lagasse; dear uncle, great-uncle, colleague and friend. Born in Lincoln, NH, attended College of Holy Cross, married Barbara Millea from Springfield, MA. He worked for Monsanto in Boston transferring to St. Louis in 1956. He volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul and Prison Ministry. Enjoyed his family, travel and life.
Services: The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 7148 Forsyth Blvd., St Louis, MO 63105, at Ashbury. Interment with full military honors at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Society of St. Vincent de Paul
100 N. Jefferson St. Louis, MO 63103. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 20, in The Great Hall of Ambruster Chapel, 6633 Clayton Rd, (Clayton) from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
