Tribute & Message From The Family

Thomas "Tommy" Nicholas Kavadas
Tommy passed away Sunday evening, February 21, 2016 after a short but valiant struggle with cancer.
Tommy, born June 12th, 1944, was the oldest son of Nicholas & Constance Kavadas. In his early years, Tommy was involved in theater and dance and recognized for his service to his community in a number of plays and performances. While serving in the U.S. Airforce he met & married his ex-wife Janet, who preceded him in death. Tommy, like his father, was an excellent chef and an entrepreneur. He owned a catering company in Richmond, Virginia, creating the most splendid Greek and American cuisine.
In 1983 he returned to St. Louis, and shortly after, started an auto-brokerage business, trading in luxury cars. He was both educated and self-educated; with an interest in everything from art and architecture to finance and economics. He was a master networker in business. He was happiest in the company of his friends and family.
Tommy is survived by his two sons, Nicholas, and Joseph (Faith); a loving brother to Jimmy (Brenda), Chris (Kristina) & Mary Ann; and Grandfather to Ashley, Juliana, Sofia, Josef, Alexis & Krista.
SERVICES: Visitation at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 9:00 – 11:00 am, with Funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.

To the Kavadas family,

I was so very sorry to hear of the loss of Tom. I knew him through out our four years at Southwest High. He was always friendly to everyone.
Tom was always involved with all of the musical shows and the many aud sessions that required talent.....he definitely had that.
I hope that all of you in Tom's family are able to share your beautiful memories with each other during this difficult time. It will definitely bring smiles and laughter as you reminisce.

Tommy, we were born a month apart and because our parents were from the same part of Greece (Rhodes) much of our first 18 years were together.

We always kept in touch. You helped us shop for cars and you have prayed and supported our family through my granddaughter Ellie receiving her double lung transplant.

I prayed for you and wish you could have fought the battle against cancer and won.

Now I pray you are out of pain, resting in eternal peace. Please continue to watch over our children and grandchildren- we are friends forever. I love you.
