Condolence & Memory Journal

my dearest Miss Anita,

I miss you so terribly and (still) struggle to believe you are gone. although I was not raised with the open casket tradition, I recall you saying that it was important to you because:
there's the rational part of my mind that knows the person is dead, but the irrational part of my mind thinks 'maybe they've gone to Aruba'

I keep waiting for a postcard from Aruba with your handwriting on it. even though we exchanged our siblings' contact info the last time you visited, I can't find Raymond's. you always spoke so fondly of your baby brother as the best present you ever got.

there is no music or poetry as lovely to hear as your laughter.
your emotional intelligence was off the chart.
even with my expansive vocabulary, I still can't fully express how much I savored the beauty and uniqueness of your unpredictable insight.

yours in friendship and adoration,

p.s. Gregory sends his love.

Dear Ray,
I am so very sorry for your dreadful loss. Anita was a unique and beautiful and talented person. Smart. Good friend. Talented. Animal loving fine artist. I'm sorry to be so late in sending my sympathy to you, but I just now learned of her passing. I hope you'll take all the time you need to heal from your loss. There's no need to rush such a sad endeavor for others' timetables. I'm always available if you want to talk. So sorry, Ray. So very, very sorry. Sharon Stonekey

Although Anita and I were not close during our shared time at VIZ, I have only good memories of a very happy young lady. My thoughts and prayers to your family, knowing that Anita truly Lived Jesus.

I loved Anita's mind, whimsy, humor, generosity, creativity, her love of celebrations. A fine heart and soul who will never be forgotten.
